FAQ

No, listing your ride is completely free! When you approve a request and the Renter pays for the reservation, we take a 12.85% cut of your listing fee. Ruse only gets paid when you do

For example, if you charge $20 per day to rent out your tent we’ll take $2.57 from the rental. Again, we only make money when you make money.

No problem! If your gear is listed as available, Renters can request and contact you whenever they want to reserve your gear. If a request is not convenient for you, you can always decline a request without regret.

If you know your gear will be unavailable for rent or you won't be able to respond to requests for several days at a time, you can always “unlist” your gear temporarily - just don’t forget to re-list it when you’re ready to rent again!

Before confirming any reservation, the Renter has to sign our Ruseoutdoors Rental Agreement. This agreement offers you protection against injury to the Renter or damage to your property - as the Lister, you are never responsible if the Renter gets injured on an adventure. At the same time, you'd be doing us all a solid by making sure your equipment is always ready to go when you pass it off. Remember we're a family who all love the same things, let's take care of each other.

Once again, all damage and personal injury is the responsibility of the Renter during the reservation. For example, if your tent pole breaks during the rental, it is the Renter’s responsibility to repair the pole or pay for a replacement.

If the Renter doesn’t communicate, respond, or honor their legal obligations, then Ruseoutdoors will step in to make sure you are properly reimbursed.

If your equipment is damaged by a Renter, please fill out( theft form) to start the claim. We cannot accept any claims that are reported after 24 hours from the end of the rental period. If you have any further questions please email us at support@ruseoutdoors.co.

If your equipment is stolen, please fill out ( theft form) to start the claim. We cannot accept any claims that are reported after 24 hours from the end of the rental period. If you have any further questions please email us at support@ruseoutdoors.co.

The equipment will be replaced or you will be reimbursed right away. We are committed to keeping you fully protected, comfortable, and happy. As Listers we'll always do our best to help you out in whatever way possible. (Guarantee is valid only in the United States)

This is something you will have to work out with the Renter. The best way to ensure your equipment is treated the way you want is to find out the Renter's ride intentions by keeping good communication. If they wish to adjust your equipment, we recommend that you log and mark all your fit coordinates before passing it over. This will enable you to quickly re-adjust your equipment back to the desired dimensions upon its return.

Listers who are unavailable during certain days or times can remove their listings for the time being or cancel any incoming requests, blocking them from rental. You can always speak with the renters once a rental is placed and let them know you won’t be able to complete it on the days they want, they can rebook for other days. Don't worry. If a Renter’s request is not convenient for you, you can always decline it without any repercussions.

No, each item must go through our process of approval before it will be listed on our site, and we currently have no option to list multiple sizes. If you would like to let Renters know that your equipment is adjustable in size, you can say so in the ride's title or description.

Yes! You can certainly list the same item in different places. If you have a bike that you keep at home and at work, you can list it at both locations. Having two locations is especially common for commuters. Many of our users create a listing at their home and add an additional listing near their work in case a Renter wants to pick it up from there. Generally speaking, the more convenient your gear location is, the more likely you are to get Renters.

Listers are required to charge at least $2 for their equipment - it can be $2per hour, $2 per day, or $2 per week. We don't allow any listings priced under $2.

No, you cannot accept cash for Ruseoutdoors rentals. We require that all payments be made via credit card since they give us a valid form of verification. Your gear will not be covered under the Ruseoutdoors guarantee if the transaction does not happen through our website.

To secure a fast rental on short notice, we recommend sending requests to many users to up your chances. You can always end up canceling your request after you have confirmed it and receive a full refund. And don't worry, we only ask for ID verification upon your FIRST rental, after that we know who you are!

Yes. Ruse recommends that renters send out multiple requests at a time in order to get a quick response. Sometimes, listers don’t have time to respond right away, so requesting from multiple listers will help you find equipment when you need it. Your credit card will only be charged once you CONFIRM AND PAY for a rental. But there is no harm in making multiple requests as you can cancel and receive a refund if you change your mind. When you do book a rental, please remember to cancel or close your other requests so other listers are not left hanging thinking you want their equipment.

A big priority for us right now is to increase the percentage of requests that turn into completed bookings. Of course, we realize that things come up. Listers can be on vacation, away from WIFI, or unable to respond due to their regular day job needs. Once again, we recommend that renters request multiple rides at a time in order to increase the chances of finding one that works. You can always end up canceling your request should you want to commit to another! You will receive a full refund on the request you canceled.

-There are a few situations that could be going on-

1. We may not have equipment listed in your area yet, we're just getting started so help us spread the word!.
2. Try zooming in and out and scanning around. Sometimes rides can just be on the edge or outside of the map area on your screen.
4. Try clearing filters. The problem may be that your search is applying old filters that is preventing gear from showing up on the map.

If none of this works:

Feel free to e-mail support@ruseoutdoors.co We are consistently working on building inventory around the map so we have contacts with shops and clubs in a variety of places! If you can't find equipment that works for you, feel free to send us an email and we can work on finding the right setup for you to rent!

Most Listers prefer to have you pick up the ride where it is listed, but some are willing to deliver their equipment. You and the Lister will decide on where to set the meetup for pickup. Feel free to ask the lister if they’re willing to change the pickup location. You can use the set location feature on our chat to set up up a specific location for meeting so nobody gets mixed up.

If you are renting for multiple dates from a single lister, you might want to ask if they are willing to give a discount. If you like the gear, but want to ask for a different price, it is up to you and the lister to work together to find an agreeable rental cost. The lister has the ability to change the price of each listing and relist that same item for you to rent.

Okay Mr. Professional, we see you! You've got your own gear that you ABSOLUTELY can't explore without. All we ask is you confirm your accessories with the Lister so they are fine with you swapping parts. Remember, per our Rental Agreement, you are responsible for dropping off the equipment in the same shape you picked it up. So make sure you don’t forget any of the necessary tools or carrying bags to make the substitution(s) seamless.

Sorry, but renting equipment with a same-day return is probably your best option. Leaving the equipment outside overnight with OR without protection is a violation of the Ruseoutdoors Rental Agreement. Keep in mind, our Rental Agreement states that you are liable for any theft, loss, or damage of the equipment that takes place during the rental period.

All reservations are at the renter's risk and you will be responsible for any theft or damage to the equipment during the rental period. However, we are working on the option of purchasing damage/theft protection for a small daily fee at the time of confirmation. That way, you can enjoy peace of mind while you ride. Stay tuned!

Please file any damage, theft, or loss claims by filling out this ( theft form). If you have any further questions please contact us at support@ruseoutdoors.co.
